United Review: Reds held against Southampton

Manchester United 0 - 0 Southampton Manchester United suffered a frustrating 0-0 draw against Southampton at Old Trafford, after Casemiro was sent off in the first half. The Brazilian midfielder was given his marching orders for a challenge on Carlos Alcaraz. Referee Anthony Taylor initially held up a yellow card, before a VAR check persuaded him it was serious foul play. The home side's best chance of the game fell to Bruno Fernandes. His curling effort forced Saints goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu to make a great save to force it onto the post. United Review: Reds bounce back from Liverpool humiliation

Manchester United 4 - 1 Real Betis Manchester United beat Real Betis 4-1 in the first leg of the Europa League Round-of-16 clash. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring for the Reds in the sixth minute, with a rifling strike that emphatically flew past Claudio Bravo. Despite an excellent start by United, our goal would be cancelled out just after the half-hour mark due to the on-loan Ayoze Perez firing across David De Gea into the bottom corner.  Erik's reds prove too strong Antony restored United's lead with a trademark effort that curled beyond a stranded Bravo, who could only watch as it hit the top corner. Minutes later, Bruno Fernandes got in on the act from Luke Shaw's corner. Our no.8 wasn't picked up as he wandered into the area to make it 3-1 on the night.  The final goal fell to Wout Weghorst, scoring his first in front of the Old Trafford faithful. Second-half substitute Facundo Pellistri was at the heart of the move, originally teeing up Scott McTominay whose s

United Review: Reds on the march again

Manchester United 3 - 1 West Ham United Manchester United are into the last eight of the FA Cup, following a 3-1 victory over West Ham. All of the action came in the second 45 minutes. Said Benrahma opened the scoring for the visitors. This was before Nayef Aguerd’s own goal gave United a route back into the game.  With extra time and penalties becoming possible, Alejandro Garnacho’s 90th-minute strike gave the Red Devils the lead. This was celebrated by players and the Stretford End alike. In-form Fred scored in the final moments to put the game to bed.  For the second time this season, Erik ten Hag’s men are in the quarter-finals of another competition.  Garnacho Inspires United Comeback! | Manchester United 3-1 West Ham United | Emirates FA Cup 22-23 - YouTube More reaction and news from the world's greatest cup competition:  A special page dedicated to the FA Cup (eurosuperfootball.blogspot.com)

United Review: Man United win first trophy since 2017.

Manchester United 2 - 0 Newcastle United Manchester United beat Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium. Casemiro’s header opened the scoring midway through the first half. Marcus Rashford then doubled Man United's lead with a shot that took a deflection off Newcastle's Sven Botman. Newcastle did test David De Gea’s goal during the second half. However, the reds managed to claim victory in London and would have extended the lead but for Loris Karius's heroics.  Erik ten Hag has now picked up his first piece of silverware as United manager. United Review: Reds progress after memorable night

Manchester United 2 - 1 Barcelona (United win 4-3 on aggregate) Manchester United produced a stunning second-half comeback to reach the Europa League last 16.  Brazilian duo Fred and Antony, who came on as a half-time substitute, both drilled home low first-time shots in front of a bouncing Stretford End that had older United fans thinking back to a memorable night in 1984. It was a victory that looked so unlikely at half-time as Barcelona led thanks to Robert Lewandowski's 18th-minute penalty. Antony's arrival at half-time changed the course of the tie as it injected more pace into United's attacks. The Red Devils now move on to Wembley, where they will look to collect their first silverware since 2017. United will face Real Betis in the next round of the competition.  This was the reaction after full-time.  Incredible Scenes At Old Trafford As Manchester United Stars Celebrate Victory Over Barcelona - YouTube More reaction coming up on  UCL and UEL (eurosuperfootball.bl

United Review: Title charge on?

Manchester United 3 - 0 Leicester City Manchester United defeated Leicester City 3-0 at Old Trafford to move within five points of the top of Premier League leaders Arsenal Marcus Rashford scored with the Reds’ first shot of the match in the first half, before he added to his tally with another strike following half-time. His countryman Jadon Sancho, who was introduced as a substitute, completed the scoring shortly after the hour mark. United's Dalot had missed a great chance when it was only 1-0. Rashford on fire. Is he the best player in the world? For Rashford, the brace increased his goals tally this season to 24 in all competitions – the most he has ever managed for the club in a single campaign. United Review: Man United earn valuable draw

Barcelona 2 - 2 Manchester United United and Barcelona played out a thrilling first-leg draw at the Nou Camp to leave their Europa League play-off tie finely poised. United responded immediately through the in-form Marcus Rashford as he slipped in a finish at the near post. The Red Devils showed resilience to turn the game around as Rashford's cross was then turned into his own net by Barcelona defender Jules Kounde. Sadly for the away side, they were unable to hold on as ex-Leeds winger Raphinha's cross from wide on the right sailed all the way into the net. Reaction Beth T tweeted: "Ten Hag needs to be taken seriously, what he’s done with this Manchester United team in 7 months is unbelievable." This is what Marcus Rashford posted:

United Review: MUFC battle to crucial win

Leeds United 0 - 2 Manchester United The Red Devils scored twice in the final 10 minutes at Elland Road to leave Leeds deep in relegation trouble. Three days on from Marcus Rashford netting the Red Devils' first goal as they came back from 2-0 down at home to secure a Premier League draw, he broke the deadlock when he rose to meet Luke Shaw's curling cross to head past Illan Meslier for his 21st goal of a superb season. Alejandro Garnacho then outpaced the home defence before beating Meslier at his near post to the joy of Erik ten Hag. Great win reds! United Review: One point gained?

Manchester United 2 - 2 Leeds United We fought our way back from being two goals down to take a point against Leeds United at Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford and substitute Jadon Sancho levelled Wilfried Gnonto’s first-minute strike and Raphael Varane’s own goal to move Erik ten Hag’s men three points ahead of Newcastle United in the Premier League table. The Reds fought back from the deficit with well-worked counter-attacks and a never-say-die attitude, epitomised by Luke Shaw, who was instrumental in Sancho’s goal to level the clash. United Review: Important win a sign of progress

Manchester United 2 - 1 Crystal Palace United earned an important 2-1 win against a stubborn Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in the Premier League. Bruno Fernandes netted the opener with a first-half strike from the penalty spot. Marcus Rashford then made it 2-0 early in the second. This was a match dominated by United. However threatened to be turned on its head minutes later though. Casemiro was shown a red card following a melee involving multiple players. The one-man advantage that Crystal Palace had meant the visitors had the momentum to get back in the game. They pulled a goal back through Jeffrey Schlupp. The Reds held on during a frantic end to the match to claim all three points. This video from UnitedPeoplesTV explores some reaction to the match. Another United fan told us: "This feels like a very important win for us. We dominated the game for around 70 minutes before the red card and the Crystal Palace goal. The character on display after that was perhaps a sig

United Review: Reaction and highlights as United reach Wembley

Are we about to win our first major trophy since 2017? Manchester United reached the final of the EFL Cup as they comfortably beat Forest 5-0 on aggregate. Watch the highlights of the match in the video below. One fan commented: " If we should ever get owners that would fully back this manager, we'd be winning the League and Champions League in quick time. He himself is the transformation he wants to see in his players, because he is a champion. So any time the team gets fully conformed to his mentality, they will also become champions." The video below contains some of the scenes from the Old Trafford stands after the match.

United Review: Casemiro shines at Old Trafford

Manchester United 3 - 1 Reading United eased to victory at Old Trafford and maintained progress in four competitions. Casemiro underlined his importance to Manchester United with two goals as they cruised past Reading to reach the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford. While the Brazil midfielder was brought to the club in August 2022 to deliver steel to the heart of United's midfield, he displayed his effectiveness further forward to break the Royals' resistance early in the second half. He scooped home the opening goal after racing on to Antony's incisive pass, and doubled United's lead four minutes later, curling in from the edge of the box after collecting Fred's pass. The midfielder's absence was sharply felt by United during their Premier League defeat at Arsenal last weekend, and he was given a standing ovation by the home supporters who fully recognise his value to the club. United Review: Unbeaten run ends

Arsenal 3 - 2 Manchester United United's 10-game unbeaten run came to an end at the Emirates Stadium. Eddie Nketiah's late strike sunk the Reds to defeat in the Premier League. Rashford's 17th goal of the season fired Erik ten Hag's side into an early lead in North London, before Nketiah's header levelled matters just eight minutes later. Lisandro Martinez's smart looping header evaded the best attempts of William Saliba, drawing the Reds level going into the final half an hour. However, there was to be heartbreak late on, as Nketiah's second goal handed Mikel Arteta's side all three points in an end-to-end encounter.  Reaction The United manager spok

United Review: Manchester is red

United 2 - 1 city A few thoughts on a memorable afternoon at Old Trafford as United staged a late turnaround to come from behind and beat their local rivals in a dramatic derby at Old Trafford. City looked to be closing the gap on Premier League leaders Arsenal after substitute Jack Grealish headed them in front from Kevin de Bruyne's cross on the hour. However, United sent their fans into raptures with a superb recovery. The reds drew level with 12 minutes left as Bruno Fernandes scored despite the presence of Marcus Rashford in an offside position.City's protests that he had interfered with play ignored despite the flag going up. Marcus Rashford was the maib figure again four minutes later when he swept in substitute Garnacho's cross at the Stretford End to move United to within one point of the blues. Another sign of United's remarkable recovery  Our recovery has been assured under Ten Hag and the scenes from players at fans at the final whistle demonstrated that a

United Review: Positive results carry on

Manchester United 3 - 0 Charlton Could a trip to Wembley be on the cards for United fans? Marcus Rashford scored two late goals to take his tally for the season to 15 and put Manchester United into the Carabao Cup semi-finals at the expense of League One Charlton at Old Trafford. Video from  Manchester United - YouTube Antony's cracking first-half opener gave United the advantage but Dean Holden's visitors claimed plenty of credit for the way they continued to battle until second-half substitute Rashford found the net for a sixth successive game with goals in the 90th and 94th minutes. The win means eight wins on the trot for United and dreams of trophies increasing for fans. Let's explore some of the best reaction from across the world Liam who sits in the Stretford End said: "This was another solid win and performance." Olivia added: "I said at the start of the season that I wanted any trophy. I genuinely think we can win two this season." The Ch

United Review: Reds progress in FA Cup

FA Cup: Manchester United 3 - 1 Everton Marcus Rashford scored again as Manchester United increased the pressure on Everton boss Frank Lampard with a deserved FA Cup victory at Old Trafford. Super Reds Super News United got off to a great start but Everton fought back Antony turned home Rashford's far-post cross but had the character to fight back. Conor Coady rammed home a 13th-minute equaliser when David de Gea calamitously allowed Neal Maupay's apparently harmless cross to roll through his legs. Rashford shines again Lampard's players continued to battle hard. However, once some brilliant approach play from Rashford had deceived Coady into turning the forward's cross into his own net, the visitors' character alone was not enough. After Dominic Calvert-Lewin had a goal ruled out for offside, Rashford kept his nerve to beat England international team-mate Jordan Pickford from the penalty spot deep into injury time. United Review: Another sign that belief and confidence is back

Manchester United 3 - 0  Bournemouth Manchester United stretched the winning run in all competitions to six games with a comfortable victory over Bournemouth. Casemiro latched onto a Christian Eriksen free-kick with a beautifully cushioned volley to put the Red Devils ahead half way through the first half. We doubled our lead four minutes into the second period as Shaw, playing in his more accustomed left-back role again, swept home an Alejandro Garnacho cut-back to complete a beautiful free-flowing move. Marcus Rashford then rounded off the scoring, tapping into an empty net after a Bruno Fernandes pass, to score in three successive Old Trafford league games for the first time. Reaction Luke Shaw told the media: “It was a really good result. At times we got a bit sloppy and conceded chances but David De Gea was amazing and made a number of really good saves to keep that clean sheet and an important three points which we needed. “I’ll play wherever the team needs me or the manage

United Review: United move into the top four

Wolves 0 - 1 Manchester United Marcus Rashford came off the bench to help United move into the top four. The stage was set for Rashford to make the difference when the in-form forward entered at half-time in place of Alejandro Garnacho. United had shown glimpses of promise, but with 76 minutes on the clock, Rashford provided the game’s first moment of true quality. His 11th goal of the season was sufficient to lift his side above Tottenham, who host Aston Villa on Sunday, and into fourth. It was a typically well-taken goal by Rashford, manufactured out of nowhere. United have now won five consecutive matches in all competitions for the first time since April 2021.  It was also easy to see why Ten Hag is so determined to add another forward in the January transfer window. United didn't look great in the first half from an attacking perspective. Defensively, the Red Devils looked solid again even with Luke Shaw at centre-back. Marcus Rashford had five goals in 32 games last se
