It was a busy day for both the Women's team in the WSL and the Under 18's side in FA Youth Cup.
Manchester City Women 1 - 1 Manchester United Women
Manchester United Women came agonisingly close to a first derby win. United had failed to beat City in five attempts in the WSL before this meeting at the Etihad Stadium, losing three times and drawing twice, but they were far from the underdogs.

The Red Devils have been sublime this season. They have exceeded expectations to mount a title challenge. The target in many minds was making the top three and entering the Champions League for the first time. However, they look capable of winning the WSL.

One fan tweeted: "We should have won this. But the players have done so well, 3 points at the Emirates and 1 point today. It has been a good season so far. We need to get Russo to sign the contract!"
That game was there to win, where were the subs, poor game management by United, poor decision-making at up top and poor defending led to their goal. their defence was there to get at. Two points were lost in a do-or-die season for the top three. Very disappointed as a fan."
Twitter user KB gave a balanced perspective: "Negatives and positives to take. Very frustrating we gave away a cheap goal and why aren’t the subs being used properly? Standout performances from Galton, Batlle and Blundell. We will miss Bøe Risa when she inevitably leaves us in January as she deserves far better!"

Crystal Palace Under 18's 1 - 3 Manchester United Under 18's
They weren't the only United side in action. The Under 18's began their defence of the FA Youth Cup with a potentially tricky trip to Crystal Palace.
They put in a great performance with a 3-1 victory over Crystal Palace in a thrilling encounter at a foggy Selhurst Park.
The young Red Devils will now face Stoke City or Blackpool away, with the fourth-round tie needing to be played by Saturday 21 January 2023.
