United Review: Late goal dents momentum

Crystal Palace 1 - 1 Manchester United

A late free-kick from Crystal Palace's Michael Olise denied Manchester United a victory that would have taken them second in the Premier League.

United were on course for their 10th successive win after Bruno Fernandes scored just before half-time when he finished well following Christian Eriksen's pull-back.

However, Olise struck in dramatic style with a brilliant curling free-kick to ensure a point apiece.

Momentum dented?

United had a shout for a penalty on 72 minutes when Scott McTominay was challenged by Chris Richards just inside the Palace box. However, referee Robert Jones waved play on.

Three minutes later, De Gea was forced into another fine stop, punching away Marc Guehi's header. This was all before a late Palace goal. Has that dented United's momentum?

One YouTuber commented: "I am running out of the count for how many times this man has saved Man United with impossible saves, he deserves every bit of love and appreciation he is getting and way more."

Another added: "That freekick in the last minute was a massive blow to us. Casemiro missing the next match is also a massive disappointment."

United Review: Reds progress after memorable night

Manchester United 2 - 1 Barcelona (United win 4-3 on aggregate) Manchester United produced a stunning second-half comeback to reach the Europa League last 16.  Brazilian duo Fred and Antony, who came on as a half-time substitute, both drilled home low first-time shots in front of a bouncing Stretford End that had older United fans thinking back to a memorable night in 1984. It was a victory that looked so unlikely at half-time as Barcelona led thanks to Robert Lewandowski's 18th-minute penalty. Antony's arrival at half-time changed the course of the tie as it injected more pace into United's attacks. The Red Devils now move on to Wembley, where they will look to collect their first silverware since 2017. United will face Real Betis in the next round of the competition.  This was the reaction after full-time.  Incredible Scenes At Old Trafford As Manchester United Stars Celebrate Victory Over Barcelona - YouTube More reaction coming up on  UCL and UEL (eurosuperfootball.bl
