United News: Cristiano Ronaldo returns to training

What's the latest with Cristiano Ronaldo?

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to group training at United's training ground.

Ronaldo refused to come on as a substitute against Tottenham last Wednesday and was subsequently dropped for Saturday's 1-1 draw at Chelsea.

Ten Hag later said there had to be "consequences" for his actions. It is understood there has since been communication between Ronaldo and Ten Hag over the the past few days.

Ronaldo blamed the "heat of the moment" after he left United's ground before the end of United's 2-0 win over Spurs, having left the bench and walked down the tunnel in the 89th minute.

One matchgoing United fan told us: "Ten Hag has dealt with this very well."

Another added: "I'm glad he's back in the squad but I think Ten Hag made the correct decision to withdraw him from the squad."

Liam, a fan from Oldham, said: "I think he's been a little daft and he's not thought through his actions. He has handed all of the power in the situation to the club and Ten Hag, which to be fair is where the power should always be at Old Trafford."

Manchester United 2 - 1 Barcelona (United win 4-3 on aggregate) Manchester United produced a stunning second-half comeback to reach the Europa League last 16.  Brazilian duo Fred and Antony, who came on as a half-time substitute, both drilled home low first-time shots in front of a bouncing Stretford End that had older United fans thinking back to a memorable night in 1984. It was a victory that looked so unlikely at half-time as Barcelona led thanks to Robert Lewandowski's 18th-minute penalty.  Manchester United 3 - 1 West Ham United Manchester United are into the last eight of the FA Cup, following a 3-1 victory over West Ham. All of the action came in the second 45 minutes. Said Benrahma opened the scoring for the visitors. This was before Nayef Aguerd’s own goal gave United a route back into the game.  With extra time and penalties becoming possible, Alejandro Garnacho’s 90th-minute strike gave the Red Devils the lead. This was celebrated by players and the Stretford End alike.
